2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #48

Hello!

What an amazing turn out we had last week!  All of your cards were wonderful.  It looks as if all of you are really starting to get caught up on your Christmas cards.  Thanks to everyone who participated last week.  You're truly inspiring!  The challenge this week is to include candy canes, or some kind of Christmas treat, on your Christmas cards. Please keep in mind that the challenge each week is optional. The idea is to help you get your Christmas cards done ahead of time so you're not rushing at the last minute.

We have another great guest designer this week.  Please help me welcome Ali (aka: Dragonlady).  Here is a bit about her.

I am a 40 something Mum of two gorgeous girls, married to a very understanding husband. I work part time and live in a market town in the South West of England.  I have crafted in one way or another for many years - starting with tapestry, then moving to cross stitch. I took up card making whilst pregnant with my first child and have never looked back!!! So 6 years later I have been blogging for just over a year and am totally addicted to entering challenges!!!!  I have found crafters to be a wonderful group of people and thoroughly enjoy surfing around and checking out peoples work.

And here is her card.  Isn't it adorable?

And here are the rest of the DT cards for this week.

(on vacation this week)

Wow, what fabulous cards we had submitted last week!  We've really enjoyed visiting your blogs, and being so inspired by you.  Thank you to everyone who participated!  This week we have an easy challenge for you.  The challenge this week is to include flowers on your Christmas cards.  See, easy!  Please keep in mind that the challenge each week is optional.  The idea is to help you get your Christmas cards done ahead of time so you're not rushing at the last minute.

This week we have another wonderful designer, Candace Mitchell.  Here is a bit about her, in her own words.

I'm Candace Mitchell. I'm a 20-something, very blessed girl from South Mississippi. I love spending time with my family and my fiance. I teach 8th grade English in my hometown, and I love working with kids. In my spare time, I love to do paper-crafting. I started out scrapbooking in May 2007 and then the card-making bug hit me about a year later. I've been in love with it ever since. I am so excited be guest designing for Christmas Card Challenges this week, as Christmas truly is my favorite time of year!

Here is her card.  Isn't it adorable?!

2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #46

Good morning.  Alanna here bringing you this week's challenge which is a recipe challenge with a twist:  Use 2 designer papers, 1 stamp, and bling.  The twist:  add a butterfly somewhere.

I'm also SUPER excited to introduce you to this week's guest designer, who really needs no introduction, Dawn McVey.  If for some reason, you've been under a crafting rock and haven't checked out her blog, RUN NOW.  You are going to love what you see, that's for sure.  She's super talented and PTI is very lucky to have her as a designer.

Here's what Dawn has to say.

Hi there! My name is Dawn McVey and I've been stamping for several years now. I got started in paper-crafting by making cards that friends and family eventually started asking to purchase from me. After a couple of years, I had sold over 2,000 cards! I was also a Stampin' Up! (hobby) demonstrator for several years, which is where I acquired my love of stamping.

I enjoy making cards, scrapbooking and making various other paper crafted projects, however card-making is my first love. In the fall of 2007, I started submitting my work to magazines and have currently had over 175 projects accepted for publication.

In July of 2008 I accepted a position on the Design Team for Papertrey Ink and in February of 2009, I became a Stamp Designer for Papertrey as well. I am thoroughly enjoying working with such a creative and innovative company and have been so excited to continue to expand my Raspberry Suite product line with them!

God has blessed me with a wonderful husband that encourages me to follow my dreams! We love traveling and spending as much time together as we can. It's a wonderful life and I'm so, so thankful.

And here is her gorgeous card.

And here are the rest of the design teams cards.

2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #45

Hey everyone...it's Sparkle here...have you all missed me?  Steph will be taking a few days off, so I'm filling in.  I must say though, my DT has been rocking this blog this year and I truly appreciate them!

Thank you everyone for participating in last week's challenge.  I used Random.org and #12 Cat is our winner.  Please email me your address to sparklecreationsrubberstamps@live.com and I will send out Elf Oliver to you soon.

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge and our guest designer this week is Mary Demmons.  This is Holiday Emily, which is a new stamp that is now available!

Hi! My name is Mary. I am a stay at home mom to two amazing kids (Thomas is 12 and Rebecca is 6). I have been married to my best friend, Tracy, for 7 years. I am very blessed to have such a supportive man in my life. I started as a scrapbooker 12 years ago when my son was born. Just a couple years ago I discovered both card making and stamping and found myself addicted to both very fast. Last year I created my blog and have made so many talented and wonderful friends along the way. I also love photography, reading and spending time with my family and friends. I am very excited to be a guest designer for Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge. I hope you enjoy the card I made.

And now the lovely cards from our beloved Design Team.  I love that they all used my new stamps for this challenge!

2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #44

Wow!  So many wonderful tag projects last week, thank you so much to everyone who has joined us!  This weeks challenge is to incoporate your favorite Christmas movie into your cards.  Don't forget that our challenge is optional and you can create any Christmas card.  The idea is to get a head start and not have to rush come December.

It is also the first challenge of the month which means there is a prize!  This weeks prize is a brand new Elf Oliver stamp from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Christmas collection and will be available for sale October 9th!  Good luck to everyone!

This weeks lovely Guest Designer is Arlene.  Here is a little bit about her in her own words.

I am a a Human Resource Director during the day and a Scuba Diving Instructor at night hence my SCS name scubascrapper and my blog name.  I use my crafty time as my alone time and as another way to zone out from the everyday distractions, while also being able to mesh my 2 favorite things, crafts and scuba diving.  Married to my DH Al for the last 17 years and we live just south of Boston, MA with our 2 cats and our wonderful dog Bear.  I began stamping about 8 years ago and really got into it in the past 2 years or so  I also do some scrapbooking but card making is so much quicker.   My DH husband refers to my copics as "oh the wicked expensive sharpies"  I started out with SU and then discovered a whole new world.  I love looking at blogs and getting some wonderful inspiration.  Sparkle has been a great inspiration and her work is amazing, I've always been in awe.  Not only that but she is a such a sweet person and so helpful I was honored to have been asked.

And her darling card using Elf Oliver!

Each week we get closer and closer to Christmas. Just think of how stress free you'll be come December, knowing you're Christmas cards are done, or at least mostly done. What a relief, right? Hopefully, you'll be able to play along with us this week. We love seeing everyone's cards!

2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #43

You guys are rockin' the Christmas cards! Thank you to all who were able to join us last week.  Your cards were beautiful!  This weeks challenge is Tags. You can use tags on your cards in general, or you can create tags for gifts or gift bags.  Please keep in mind that our challenges each week are optional. Any Christmas card is perfect for any of our challenges. The idea is to help get your Christmas cards done ahead of time. This way you won't be rushing at the end of the year to get them done.

This week we have another wonderful guest designer. Please help me welcome Jess Willison. Here is a bit about her.

I am a SAHM of two little farm kids in Southwestern Ontario. I began cardmaking innocently, after getting engaged and wanting to make my own wedding invitations. After 6 years, the innocent beginning has become an amazing hobby (or obsession), and I am so fortunate my hubby and kids support (or tolerate!) me!

I was so flattered to have been considered to be a Guest Designer for Sparkle’s Christmas Card Challenge. I have been playing along for a while, and just love that come Christmas time, my cards are already made! Thanks to Sparkle and her Design Team for all their inspiration!

Here is her beautiful card.

I love the image, and the sentiment is adorable.  Here is what our fabulous design team have come up with today.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY - MY 12 CHRISTMAS TREES!!!

Happy Christmas in July!!

Many retail stores, both online and brick and mortar stores, are celebrating Christmas in July with special sales!

This idea has led me to create a separate Christmas blog so I WELCOME you to my new Christmas blog, A DEBBIE-DABBLE CHRISTMAS!!

Last Christmas season ( 2009 ), I had 12 Christmas trees in my home! Yep, you read that correctly - 12 Christmas trees!

If you missed my Pink Saturday Post on my other blog Debbie-Dabble, showing my Dining Room and Craft Room trees, please click HERE

This is my Dining Room

My Craft Room Tree

So that was 2 trees, now I would like to show you the other 10!

Please come in...........

Number 3- My Living Room Tree

The theme for this tree is red and gold and Victorian style ornaments.

Along with the white lights, I have added candle lights to this tree

And red velvet bows

This is my Christmas Village that is underneath this tree

I have collected pieces since 1981

Number 4 My Powder Room Tree

I decorate my Powder Room with Snow Buddies and the color theme of white, silver and blue!

Unfortunately , there is no receptacle available to plug in lights so this tree is just decorated with Snow Buddies.

Number 5 is my Kitchen Tree. The Kitchen is decorated with Gingerbread men and Candy Canes.

This is a 3 foot tree that I have placed in my milk can!!

There are peppermint candy ornaments on this tree

Number 6 is one of my Den Trees

The theme for my Den is a Dicken's style with Carolers and a vintage look with a burgundy, blue and ivory color scheme

I have my Thomas Kinkaide Ornaments on this tree with Thomas Kinkaide house below

The tea cup ornament is a Thomas Kinkaide

Number 7 is a wire tree that is on top of my China Hutch in my Den.
I have ornaments that depict Vintage Children and carolers

Number 8 is the tree I made for my Victorian Doll House.
Yes, I even decorate Nelson Crest (my doll house) for Christmas!

Number 9 is the tree of my childhood and it is in my Bedroom.

This tree is decorated with vintage glass ornaments that were from the 50's and early 60's when I was a child

I bought these at yard sales and flea markets

Below is a Plasticville Village
Some of these were my parent's and were under my childhood tree.
There are also vintage Putz houses and bottle brush trees that were my parent's.

Number 10 is the tree that is in my Hubby's Corner in our Bedroom. He is an avid Pittsburgh fan and we have season tickets to the AHL Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins Hockey Team which is the farm team of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
So he has a Penguins and Steeler's tree!!

I guess you can tell that he was thrilled when I painted our bedroom gold! LOL!!

Next is tree Number 11. This tree is in my Guest Room.

This is decorated with novelty ornaments from my two son's childhood and icicle ornaments.

And finally, tree Number 12 is a small tree , also in the guest room, that I decorated with mini pink Victorian ornaments.

So those were what my 12 trees looked like last Holiday Season. I do change them up every few years. When do I start to decorate you ask? Since I work full time, I start on November 1 after I take down and put away my Autumn and Halloween decorations.
