Good morning and thanks to those who joined us in last week's challenge.  This week's optional challenge is to incorporate holiday travel.  Remember, though, that the only real rule is that you have fun and create a Christmas or holiday card.  Also, it is not required that you use a SCRS stamp to participate, but we sure love it when you do.

2011 Christmas Card Challenge Week #1

Season's Greetings and welcome to the new year of challenges here at the CCC!

Everyone did such an amazing job with last weeks sketch challenge, we really love looking at all of your amazing cards!  Thank you so much for playing along and inspiring us each week!  This week's challenge is to make a monochromatic card.  Please remember that our challenges are optional, any winter or Christmas card is perfect, we just want to help you get a jump start on your holiday cards.  Also, it is not required that you use a SCRS stamp to participate, but we sure love it when you do.

It is also the first challenge of the month which means there is a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps up for grabs for one lucky random participant!  Good luck and have fun!

Our guest designer for December is Brenda Rose, here is a little bit about her in her own words.

Hi there! My name is Brenda Rose, and I am so happy to be joining you as a guest designer at Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenges! I have been playing for several months and love the inspiration I find here. Don't you think it's a great idea to work on Christmas cards all year long?!

I am an avid paper crafter. I having been scrapbooking for 20+ years. It became my obsession about 7 years ago. I was a Close To My Heart Director and taught about 60 people per month in my home. I also taught at a LSS and most recently I became certified to teach EK Success's Scrapbook Design & You classes. I love everything paper. It doesn't matter if I'm crafting cards, scrapbook pages, or altered gifts. I just love the creativity that this hobby allows. I am of the belief that everyone should express their individuality through paper crafting and that there is no right or wrong. What is important is that you love what you are doing!

There are such fun challenges here this month! I know it's a busy time, but perhaps you can find the time to squeeze in a card (or two or three) during the month. Paper therapy can be a wonderful stress reliever during busy times! I look forward to seeing what you create!

2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #52

Greetings to all!

I'd like to take a minute to thank everyone who has joined us this year.  I can't believe how quickly time has passed, but we're at the end of this term.  We've been truly inspired by your cards, and your participation and we hope that you will continue to grace us with your cards in the upcoming year.  Now, onto this weeks challenge.  This week Peggy has created another fabulous sketch for us to use.  Please keep in mind that the challenges each week are optional.  The idea is just to help you create a Christmas card each week so that you'll have a good stack finished by the time December rolls around.  Here is Peggy's sketch.

Our last guest designer for this year is Barb.  Here is a bit about her, in her own words.

Hello everyone, my name is Barb.  I have been married for 25 years, to a very patient man and we have two beautiful daughters who also like to scrap and make cards. We share our home with 2 cockatiels, and a very spoiled little doggie named Maxwell William. I have had a love affair with paper since I was a young girl, so it was no surprise to anyone when I started scrapbooking. Eventually, I moved on to digital scrapping, but found that I really missed my paper. So three years ago, I began card crafting and I LOVE it!  I am thrilled to be chosen as a Guest Designer for Sparkle’s Christmas Card Challenge. I really like the idea of creating Christmas cards all year. I turn on Christmas music in my studio, light a Christmas-y scented candle to help set the mood and then I create away!

Here is Barb's beautiful card, based on the sketch.

And here are the rest of the designers cards for this week.

We hope you'll be as inspired by us as we are by you, and join us for this last challenge of the 2010 year.  There are only a couple weeks left until Christmas is upon us!

2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #51

Thanks to all of you who played in last week's shaped card challenge. There were a lot of fabulous entries.  Are you getting excited watching your stack of cards grow?  I counted all of my Christmas cards this past week and I have 72.  Woo Hoo!

Let's talk about this week's challenge.  Use light pink, grey, orange and white.  What a great color combo.  So fun and fresh.

I'm also happy to introduce this week's guest designer, Kateri. Here's a bit about her.

My name is Kateri Boshart. I am a mom of an almost 4 year old girl and almost 4 month old boy. I'm also a home health aide. To say the least, I'm busy!  I do not consider myself artistic at all but I do LOVE to craft. Paper crafting is my favorite. I was asked when I started paper crafting and I honestly cannot remember, it seems I've always been coloring, cutting, and pasting! I guess I really started to make cards when I was working with my friend Lynda. I was teaching at the time and had four classroom aides. We began our own weekly challenge, usually based on papers. Every Friday we would have our co-workers vote on a winner. The winner would get scratch-off lottery tickets - it was a lot of fun! From that, I moved onto online challenges and blogland and as they say....the rest is history!

 And here's her fabulous card.

2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #50

Hi ya'll!

Wow! We're totally amazed at the awesome turn out last week. You guys are rockin' those Christmas cards! We are so inspired and thankful to have all of you join us each week.

Before we get to this weeks challenge, we have a winner from last weeks entries.  Thanks to Random.org, Congrats to #89 - Pinky!  Please send me an email (onecraftychica@gmail.com) with your address so that I can get your stamp out to you.

This weeks challenge is to create a shaped card. By shaped card, I mean something other than a traditional square or rectangle. Remember that any winter/Christmas card is good for our challenges, we just want everyone to have fun and be ready to mail out cards with out the last minute rush.

This week we have one of my favorite people joining us as our guest designer. I'm pretty sure most of you know her, from her weekly sketch challenges on her blog, I {heart} To Stamp. Please welcome Jen del Muro! Here is a bit about Jen, in her own words.

My name is Jen del Muro and I am an avid rubber stamper and paper crafter. I don’t know when my love for paper and all things paper related started, but it has grown from just a love to a complete obsession and {almost} daily activity for me. I was introduced to the Stampin’ Up line of products a few years back and ever since then, I have been hooked on stamping. While SU! was my first love, it certainly wasn’t my last. I am glad that I have been introduced to several lines of stamps and stamping/paper crafting products.

My favorite stamping site of all-time is Splitcoaststampers.com. The first time I ventured onto this site, I think that I spent almost 4 hours just looking in awe at all the uploaded creations. In the fall of 2006, I got a very special e-mail from Julie Ebersole inviting me to be a part of the Splitcoast Design Team, affectionately know as the Dirty Dozen. Me, a Dirty Girl???…you bet I said “yes” {very emphatically!} to that invitation. I am so honored to have been a part of the “Dirt Pile.” All of those girls are so amazingly talented, not to mention so sweet…and quite witty! Since my time on the pile, several doors have opened up for me and I hope to continue progressing in the stamping community through my design work and publications. While I won’t call anyone my idol, I will certainly say there are a bunch of talented women {and men!!} out there that I can look up to in respect to those aspects of stamping.

As for the more personal side of me, I am married to the most wonderful man in the world, Tony. We live in North Texas with our beautiful daughter and adorable son. Our house is also called home by our 2 dogs, Abby and Cooper, and a sly black cat, Gracie. Right now I am a stay at home mom, but look forward to re-entering the workplace at some point in time {well, maybe}.

Here is Jen's card for this weeks challenge. Isn't this darling?! I love the little girl. And, it may just be coincidence, but Jen's sketch challenge this week is sponsored by our very own Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. You should run over there to see how fantastic the sketch is this week.

And, here are the rest of the DT's cards.
